On Monday, January 19th, over 200 Virginians converged on our capitol to tell our elected officials that now is the time to adopt a new energy policy for the Commonwealth.

We met with our state delegates and senators to explain the benefits of adopting an Energy Efficiency policy that would mandate 19% of our future energy needs be meet through efficiency measures. Doing this would create new green collar jobs, save Virginians money, and most importantly eliminate the need for ten new coal fired power plants here in Virginia.

Our lobby day was a great success with representatives and members of environmental and civic groups from across the state joining together for this common purpose. Successful as it was, our work is only beginning to make sure that Virginia's energy policy is responsive both to the needs of our changing economy and our warming planet.
