Say "WHEEZE", Help Michigan's Kids Breathe Easier

Event Description:

On April 14-15, 2009, Michigan's Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) will hold public hearings for a 930 MW coal-fired power plant proposed by Consumers Energy in Essexville, Michigan (near Bay City).

MDEQ has repeatedly declined to take steps to regulate greenhouse gases during the air permit process--and is now initiating public comment periods without having a protocol for the alternatives assessment required by the Governor's Executive Directive.

We need your help to illustrate just how many Michigan residents are concerned about this coal rush's effect on our health and our environment. Please join our photo petition!
